Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using ToolBit (toolbit.dev), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use our tools.

TL;DR: Be cool, use the tools responsibly, we provide them "as-is" with no guarantees.

What ToolBit Provides

ToolBit offers free developer tools including:

  • JSON Formatter & Validator
  • RegEx Tester & Debugger
  • Base64 Encoder & Decoder
  • Color Palette Generator
  • Additional tools (coming soon)

All tools run 100% in your browser with no server-side processing.

Use of Services

You May:

  • ✅ Use all tools for free, unlimited times
  • ✅ Use for personal or commercial projects
  • ✅ Use offline (after initial page load)
  • ✅ Share links to toolbit.dev
  • ✅ Provide feedback and suggestions

You May NOT:

  • ❌ Copy, redistribute, or resell our tools
  • ❌ Remove branding or claim as your own
  • ❌ Use for illegal activities
  • ❌ Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage our services
  • ❌ Use automated scripts to overload our servers
  • ❌ Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Intellectual Property

ToolBit and its tools are owned by Noah (NDCSwift). All rights reserved.

  • The code is proprietary (not open source at this time)
  • The design, branding, and content are copyrighted
  • You may not copy or reproduce without permission

Disclaimer of Warranties

ToolBit is provided "AS-IS" with no warranties.

  • We don't guarantee 100% uptime
  • We don't guarantee accuracy of results
  • We don't guarantee tools will meet your needs
  • Use at your own risk

Important: Always verify critical data yourself. Our tools are helpers, not replacements for your judgment.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We're not liable for any damages from using ToolBit
  • We're not liable for data loss or corruption
  • We're not liable for business losses
  • Total liability limited to $0 (the service is free)

Translation: If something goes wrong, we're sorry, but we can't be held responsible. Use responsibly!

Your Data

Since all processing happens in your browser:

  • You own all content you process
  • We never see or store your content
  • You're responsible for backing up your data

Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue tools at any time
  • Change features or functionality
  • Update these terms (we'll notify via this page)
  • Add new tools or remove old ones

We'll try to give notice for major changes, but we're not required to.

Third-Party Links and Services

ToolBit may link to external sites (GitHub, YouTube, etc.):

  • We're not responsible for external content
  • External sites have their own terms
  • Use external sites at your own risk

Advertising

We may display advertisements to support free tools:

  • Ads are served by Google AdSense
  • Google's terms apply to ads
  • We don't control ad content
  • Use ad blockers if you prefer (we understand!)

Support and Donations

ToolBit is free, but you can support development:

  • Donations are voluntary and appreciated
  • Donations don't create any obligation on our part
  • No refunds on donations (they're gifts!)

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you:

  • Violate these terms
  • Use tools for illegal purposes
  • Attempt to harm our services

You can stop using ToolBit at any time for any reason.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in Ontario courts.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use means you accept the changes.
